Jaymie's Birthday

Holiday was working at on some files left on her desk. Paperwork was part of a doctor's job after all. It was a long grueling task that no one really enjoyed, but someone had to get it done. She glanced over at the clock. 10. She still had plenty of time before lunch. The good doctor didn't like to procrastinate, but for once, she did. Glancing over at a desktop calendar, she decided to flip through it. She didn't get very far though, since Thursday had something written on it. "Jaymie's birthday!!!" Her mouth gaped open for a second. She stood up and hurried out of the lab to find Rex and Six. They needed to plan a party for her. Jaymie was a child growing up in a non-traditional way. Holiday took it upon herself to make it as normal as possible. Even if that meant giving up paperwork to make a party.

Rex can be found in his room playing a video game that might very well be too 'mature' for his. But Rex fought monsters for a living he should be able to handle Auto Theft or at least that's what his male parental figured when Rex talked him into buying it. He won't notice any knocks at the door or said door opening. To get his attention he'll need to have someone touch his shoulder or something.

Six,on the other hand, was in the training room. It wouldn't last for long because he had to find the children and make sure they weren't getting into trouble and then round them up for lunch and training. It wasn't anything intense. Just some warm up to make sure his senses were as sharp as normal. He would hear someone a mile away.

Six made his way to Jaymie's room. Hoping she was still there, he knocked on the door and waited to see if there was a reply.

"What? Me and the pony are on an adventure to find the rainbow!!!" Was the response he got. In case you forgot you're erasing a 5 (almost 6!) year old girl and all things are sparkles at that age.

He'll find them.

"So Doc you suppose Six will show up soon?" Impatient not son is impatient.

Eventually.

"He's probably on his way right now." Rex really was impatient. "For now we can continue planning. Make sure you write the time and date on the invites." Rex's impatience made planning this thing hard, but at least they settled on a when. Thursday at noon.

Guess who's looking for her family? She's found the rainbow and now wants to okay with Rexy or cuddle with mommy. But where is everyone. She checked all around the usually spots with no luck. She pauses. They could be in the lab but she doesn't like that place maybe she'll look around elsewhere first.

"We'll need a theme for the decorations." Holiday draws a line under the list of games. Scribbling "Decorations" under it.

Six emerged from underneath a near by table. Jaymie was a little girl. He didn't need to go all out. "Rex. You can come out now."

Don't worry. Rex was also under a table. He crawled out from underneath it and stopped next to Six. " okay now what? Time to continue planning?"

Meanwhile Jaymie and Holiday arrived at the control center.

Workers were typing on computers and whatnot. Holiday walked up to a nearby worker. "Are Six and Rex out on a mission?" The worker gave her a look. If anyone should know, it was her. He turned, typed stuff into the computer. "Six's jet just left the hanger."

Back in the lab Rex had managed to be productive after all. He was looking at party stuff online. Looking for the cheapest supplies at near by stores. Guess who got his kid sister a pony piñata? This guy.

Holiday reentered the lab. She spotted Rex on the computer. Six wasn't around, probably still off doing God knows what. "Rex, did you do anything productive or are you playing games again?"

Now that they are alone...

"How was delivering the invites?"

Six shrugged. "They were confused, but I think the majority of them will let their kid come with a government agent watching them." Alright, he might have had some small talk with the parents and he might have lied a bit, but do you want guests or not? "How was distracting Jaymie?"

"Hey Jaymie." He smiled as he entered the room. " Doc said you wanted to see me?"

" come see my treasure! Green bean is currently guarding it, but don't worry he won't bite you"

PARTY DAY!!!

It was Thursday. Jaymie's birthday and also the day of her party. Holiday was up early to make sure everything runs smoothly. The food and gifts were bought earlier in the week. It was about 6 o'clock when the good doctor bustled out of her room with an air of excitement. Time to go check on everything.

Rex like always slept in. Six is gonna have to flip him outta bed. The kid loves sleep. What can he say?

Meanwhile, Holiday was in the petting zoo. Jaymie wasn't allowed in here without permission from her or Six, so it was the perfect place to hide the decorations and presents. They were hidden well enough that the EVOs didn't bother them. But someone did bother them. The less dangerous EVOs were wearing party hats. She had a feeling Rex was behind this.

Yes Rex was behind this. But don't come looking for him right now Doc " alright bring it on!" He built his smack hands and waited for the machines. He's fought them before but that was a while ago. He usually didn't train with them so this was going to be an interesting match.

It's Six's time to shine.

Six was going to check on Jaymie before he went to pick up the guests. The cooking would take maybe twenty minutes max, and the cake and ice cream are in the fridge. He just wanted to make sure Jaymie wasn't covered in maple syrup and creating a huge mess. Who knows? If checking in with Jaymie doesn't take long, he could squeeze in some training time for himself. Ah yes, Six felt rather proud of his strategy.

Six. We just need six.

can he walk in on her making her own sock drawer of lies Jaymie is sitting crisscross on her bedroom floor and dollie in her lap and she brushed it's hair. She's humming a happy tune. it's the tune rex sung to her when she was injured Awww

Rex finished setting up the room for the party. He helped holiday put up the decorations and he looked around the room satisfied. It looked good.

Almost time to party.

The party was really coming together. Holiday glanced down at her watch. 11 o'clock. The party would be starting soon. She hoped Six was doing his work. She hasn't checked base with him since she got Rex for the party hats. In the midst of her worrying, her cell phone went off. She picked it up and looked at the caller id. It was Six. She answered it with a slightly confused "hello?"

Six landed in the hanger as the kids grew more and more annoying. "Are we there?" one asked for about the hundredth time. "I have to pee" another announced. The rest were just running around causing a mess. Six stood up and turned to them. "Alright. We're here. Quiet down or it won't be a surprise." Six threw open the jet door and the children scrambled out from all sides of him. And yes, one brave soul squeezed their way through Six's legs. He descended after them. Now just to find Rex. "Don't touch anything," he shouted to the children, eyeing a particular one that was just about to touch a carrier plane. Hopefully Rex was around.

Rex is indeed around. Here he is by the entrance way to the hanger. When he sees Six's jet land he makes his way towards it. " looks like you could use a hand" he smiles as he walks up to Six.

Holiday walked into the party room and moved away from in front of Jaymie. "Alright, Jaymie. You can open your eyes."
