Jaymie's Birthday

Holiday was working at on some files left on her desk. Paperwork was part of a doctor's job after all. It was a long grueling task that no one really enjoyed, but someone had to get it done. She glanced over at the clock. 10. She still had plenty of time before lunch. The good doctor didn't like to procrastinate, but for once, she did. Glancing over at a desktop calendar, she decided to flip through it. She didn't get very far though, since Thursday had something written on it. "Jaymie's birthday!!!" Her mouth gaped open for a second. She stood up and hurried out of the lab to find Rex and Six. They needed to plan a party for her. Jaymie was a child growing up in a non-traditional way. Holiday took it upon herself to make it as normal as possible. Even if that meant giving up paperwork to make a party.

Rex is indeed around. Here he is by the entrance way to the hanger. When he sees Six's jet land he makes his way towards it. " looks like you could use a hand" he smiles as he walks up to Six.

[thegreensunglasses]

"I'll help you get them into the party room, but I have to go cook afterwards." Even though his face was stoic at the moment, anyone could tell he just wanted to get away from the kids. Rex and Jaymie were enough to handle. "I'll call Holiday on my way to the kitchen and see if she can help you."

[naniteking]

"I know you have to start coking so hopefully I can handle them until holiday can come help me."

Six nods his head and turned to the children, who had their dirty little hands on everything they shouldn't. "Alright." he called out to them. "Rex is going to take you to the party while we go get Jaymie. You can play some fun games with him." The children looked at the teen. "I believe one of them needs to go to the bathroom as well. Good luck."

[naniteking]

One kid took another step closer to Rex. "Do you value your teeth?" The boy questioned. Another kid from the back of the pack shouted " I still have to pee!!!"

Oh yeah good luck indeed.

Six gave Rex a look. One that could only say "survive." He turned towards the exit. "If you need anything, call me. I'll see you at the party." And with that, the ninja turned and walked out of the room. Thankful to be away from the children.

[naniteking]

"Bathrooms right over there kid" Rex pointed the kid across the room to where the restrooms were. As for the teeth one. He's just not gonna reply. Kids will drop topics when not responded to, right?

" so what do you guys wanna play?" He asked the group. It was a good starting to into entertaining them and maybe insanity but it worked.

Six continued walking down the hall towards the kitchen. He pulled out his phone and dialed Holiday's number. Time to tell her the guests are here.

[hollyoncall]

Holiday's phone went off. She excused herself from Jaymie to answer it. "Six? What's wrong?" Are the guests here already? She couldn't hear the children's commotion in the background.

[thegreensunglasses]

"Nothing's wrong. I'm guessing you're with Jaymie though. The guests are here, and Rex is entertaining them, but he'll need some help. They're very active and curious. Rex might not have teeth if he stays alone with them for too long. I'll start cooking momentarily. It shouldn't take more than twenty minutes." Hopefully Holiday can ween her way from Jaymie to help Rex. "And tell Jaymie I'll play with her in a bit. I promised her that."

[hollyoncall]

"That does sound like a problem. I'll go check it out in a minute. And don't worry about Jaymie, I'll make sure your message gets to her. And Six, thanks for everything." Six is doing the dirty work of this party, and Holiday felt he needed some recognition. It really did feel like they were real parents at times. The good doctor turned to Jaymie. "There's a problem I have to go fix, but don't worry, I'll be back to give you your surprise. And Six will be here soon to play with you. I'm sorry I have to go."

[naniteking]

"Alright. Don't take to long okay? Green bean and I want to see my surprise very soon!"

Rex he's doing a pretty good job on his own. They're staying decently quite and haven't run off or touch anything yet. Everything is fine. But he could really use another person here to help. He hopes holiday will get here soon. In the meantime he's got the pack of children playing some spotty story telling game. It's keeping their attention and he isn't to involved so all is good.

[hollyoncall]

Holiday smiles at Jaymie. "I promise it won't be too long." She headed out the door and started in the direction she hoped to find them. Six never really specified where they were. She eventually found the room and walked in. "How's everyone?" She looked at all the children and turned to look at Rex. It was quite a big turn out.

[naniteking]

"Uh everything's going good so far. No ones ran off or anything and other than something about my teeth they are pretty good kids."

[hollyoncall]

"That's good to hear." Don't want Jaymie to be friends with bad children. "Is there anything I can do to help?" She didn't know what to do. Might as well let Rex take the lead for this one.

[naniteking]

"Just having another person here to help keep an eye on them is helpful." As if on cue two of the kids stopped whatever game they were playing and started to wonder off.

[hollyoncall]

"I'll go get them." Holiday went off to get the two kids. She quickly caught up with them. "Hey, where are you going?" She gently put a hand on their shoulders. "We want to see Jaymie." Holiday looked at both of them and gave a soft smile. "Jaymie will be here soon. Stay here and play some games. She won't be long." The children blinked. "okay." The good doctor offered both of them a hand, and lead them back to the group.

"Thanks." Rex smiled. It was easier with two people. It was a rather large group of kids after all. "So what games do you wanna play next?" Rex asked the group.

Six was moving around the kitchen. Chicken tenders were cooking in the oven, grilled cheese was cooking on the oven top. And Six was moving some mini pizzas off of a tray onto a serving platter. The cake was sitting on the table to thaw a little bit before being served. After finishing the mini pizzas, Six turned back to the grilled cheese and flipped them over. He glanced over at the time. 11:50. The oven's timer dinged, signalling the food was done. Six quickly took the tenders out and put them on a serving platter. He turned back to the grilled cheese and noticed they were done as well. Perfect he had made it on time. Now, to deliver the food and get Holiday.

Rex is in a heated staring contest with with the tooth kid. Whatever it's keeping team entertained. Rex blinked at the kid cheered along with the others who were watching the contest.

Six walked into the party room, carrying all three trays of food. Thankfully, he had a heightened sense of balance. He looked at all the children, and show Rex's lost. At least he was keeping the children busy. He put the food on the table."The party's ready. We just need to get Jaymie." It was directed towards both Rex and Holiday.

[naniteking]

Rex looked up to Six then turned to Holiday. " you wanna go get her or should I?" He asked.

[hollyoncall]

"We can all go to get her." The good doctor spoke up. "I promised to get her for her surprise. Six promised to play with her when he got back, and you haven't seen her yet today, Rex." I think it'll be special if we all escort her to the party." She's sure the children would stay put for the few minutes they went to Jaymie's room and back, especially if they were told Jaymie was coming. Maybe ask them to hide and scare Jaymie when she entered the room?

[naniteking]

"Sounds good to me." Rex smiled. He stood up and stretched and head towards the door. "Let's go then." He looked to the group of kids. " We'll be back soon and with Jaymie. You guys hang out here and then the real fun can start, okay?"
