Jaymie's Birthday

Holiday was working at on some files left on her desk. Paperwork was part of a doctor's job after all. It was a long grueling task that no one really enjoyed, but someone had to get it done. She glanced over at the clock. 10. She still had plenty of time before lunch. The good doctor didn't like to procrastinate, but for once, she did. Glancing over at a desktop calendar, she decided to flip through it. She didn't get very far though, since Thursday had something written on it. "Jaymie's birthday!!!" Her mouth gaped open for a second. She stood up and hurried out of the lab to find Rex and Six. They needed to plan a party for her. Jaymie was a child growing up in a non-traditional way. Holiday took it upon herself to make it as normal as possible. Even if that meant giving up paperwork to make a party.

It didn't take long for the two to meet up. Stopping in the middle of the hallway, the two looked at each other. "Any idea what Thursday is?"

"Jaymie's birthday." He didn't even need a moment to think. Naturally, he knew a lot about the kid he was raising.

"We need to plan a party. I assume you're going to help. Rex mentioned something about you knowing how to make balloon animals?" That's what she was really wondering. The sixth most deadliest man... Making balloon animals...

Well, shit. "I'm willing to help." The two began to walk down the hall. "The balloon animals were for a job." That's all he would say about the matter.

She didn't need to know anymore. "We'll just pick up Rex and start planning."

Six nodded his head. They turned down another hall and made their way to Rex's room.

Rex was busy with video games again. It's what he does.

Sadly, no one was surprised about Rex continuing his games. The adults entered the room and weren't fazed. "Did you make the invites?"

"I started to make them" he pointed to a stack on his bed. "But I figured we should plan the party in full before they are finished as we can have the time of the party and such on them" he hasn't looked away from the tv yet.

"If this is a surprise party, we shouldn't be planning it in Rex's room. It'll be the first place she looks for us." Six was well aware of the 5 year old's liking for her brother's room. "I have to check on her anyways. I'll be back soon." And with that, Six left the room.

"Rex. You have to stop playing your games if you're going to help." She just stated what Six was probably thinking. There was a stern look on her face.

"Alright" he saved and shut off his game and stood to stretch the. He picked up the invites and put them in his jacket. "Where should we go to plan?"

"The lab. Jaymie doesn't come in very often." She would know; she's always in the lab.

"Alright let's go" he headed out his room to head to the lab.

Holiday followed.Glad to have this party planning started.
